Mario Moutinho

Mario Caneva de Magalhães Moutinho holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology (1983) Université ParisVII-Jussieu and a Degree in Architecture (1972) Ecole Nationale Supérieur des Beaux Arts Paris. Maitrise Certificate in Thematic Cartography (1971) Institut Geographique National - Paris; Maitrise Certificate in General Ethnology (1972) Université Paris VII.

 I am a Professor and Dean at the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies, and a Researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED). I am Vice President of the International Movement for a New Museology (Affiliated Organization to the International Council of Museums -ICOM); Board member of the UNESCO Chair "Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity". I published 38 articles in specialized magazines, 8 books and 11 book chapters. I organized 72 events and participated in 68 events. I supervised 27 PhD thesis and 43 Master's dissertations in the area of Museology and Urban planning. Received 5 awards. l am the founder of the Journal of Sociomuseology (Cadernos de Sociomuseologia) and a member of the Editorial Board (6o vols). I work in the area of Social Sciences with an emphasis on Museology and Sociomuseology. I am member of Scientific Councils and Advisory Committees of institutions and cultural associations.
