In the context of a recent preoccupation with extra-European heritage, the history of scientific museology and the colonial and postcolonial thought associated with it, the institution museum and the way in which it frames history, have been intensely scrutinized. The project analyzes through the lens of contemporary art museums as a media for communicating information and of viewing heritage. The exhibition is examining contemporary art's contribution as a tool for rethinking and democratization of "the museological device" and for stimulating public engagement. It aims to reflect upon emerging artistic methodologies and contributions that question the material and ephemeral 'heritage' object.
